These terms apply when you book or buy a repair service from The Repair Lab. By submitting a quote, paying a deposit or handing us a device, you accept them. They're written to be readable — if anything's unclear, ask.
1. About us

2. The service we provide
We diagnose and repair phones, laptops, tablets, smartwatches, consoles and similar consumer electronics. The exact services and indicative prices are listed at /services. The price you pay is always confirmed in writing (your quote) before any work begins.
3. Quotes
- Quotes are fixed-pricefor the work agreed. If we find additional faults mid-repair (water damage, board-level issues, etc.) we'll pause and quote separately before continuing — no surprises.
- Quotes are valid for 30 days.
- Diagnostic fees (where applicable) are stated upfront and deducted from the repair price if you proceed.
4. Payment
- We accept card payments via Stripe (incl. Apple Pay, Google Pay) and Klarna Pay in 3 for orders over £100.
- For mail-in repairs we usually take a 50% deposit before parts are ordered, with the balance due before collection or return shipping.
- We retain the right to hold a repaired device until the balance is paid.
5. Warranty
Every repair is covered by our lifetime craftsmanship warranty on the workmanship, plus a part-specific warranty:
- Screens & batteries: 12 months from the date of repair.
- Board-level repairs: 90 days.
- Software / unlocking / data services:not covered — the result depends on the device's state.
The warranty does not cover:
- Damage from a subsequent drop, impact or liquid spill
- Damage caused by third-party repairs to the same device after ours
- Cosmetic wear and tear
- Pre-existing faults not raised at booking
6. Mail-in repairs
- We'll generate a tracked shipping label for inbound and outbound legs. Insurance limits are stated at booking; if your device value exceeds the standard cover you can request a higher-cover service at additional cost.
- Risk passes to the carrier once your parcel is in their possession. Claims for loss or damage in transit are made against the carrier's insurance.
- Please back up your device before sendingand remove any case, SIM, SD card or accessories you want to keep. We're not liable for items we didn't expect to receive.
7. Data on your device
We don't access your personal data unless absolutely needed for the repair (and only with your explicit permission, e.g. a passcode you share). You are responsible for backing up your device. We're not liable for data loss caused by the original fault, the repair process, or where a factory reset is unavoidable. See our data recovery service if data is the priority.
8. Unclaimed devices
If we've repaired or diagnosed your device and you don't collect or respond to messages within 90 days, we'll attempt to contact you twice more. After a further 30 days the device may be sold to recover our costs, in line with the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977.
9. Cancellations & refunds
- You can cancel before work begins for a full refund of any deposit (minus the cost of any non-returnable parts already ordered).
- Once a repair is complete we don't offer refunds for change of mind. Faulty workmanship is covered under the warranty (section 5).
- Distance Selling Regulations: the 14-day right to cancel doesn't apply once we've begun a personalised repair service that you specifically requested.
10. Our liability
Our liability for any single repair is limited to the repair price paid, except where a higher amount is required by law (we don't limit liability for death, personal injury, fraud or anything else that the law doesn't allow us to limit).
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by English law and any disputes go before the courts of England and Wales.
12. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your repair is the one in force when you accepted your quote.
